The absolutely amazing view from our room at the Highfield Hotel in Keswick, Lake District, UK

Highfield Hotel in Keswick, Lake District, UK

For those familiar with my blog - you will know how much I love the English Lake District, and as a base when staying in hotels & B&B's I often head for Keswick as there is enough going on with plenty of shops, pubs & restaurants and other activities if the weather is not the best for walking!

The Highfield Hotel in Keswick is a great place to stay as it is only a few minutes walk to the town centre but has amazing views over Derwent Water and the surrounding mountains towards the Borrowdale Valley, which is one of my favourite views in the whole of the Lakes.

The rooms are modern and tastefully decorated, the views from the rooms at the front of the hotel are incredible, and the garden is a nice place to relax on a morning or evening. The breakfasts are really nice too with plenty of choice. Parking is also free at the rear of the hotel which is a bonus in Keswick.

All in all when taking into consideration the reasonable price of this 3 Star Silver Award Hotel, the views, location and decor, the Highfield Hotel is a highly recommended place to stay in the Lake District - just look at that view from the room above!

The Highfield Hotel, built in 1885, looks impressive from the front in a classic Lake District style using local Slate, and the garden is an excellent place to relax.

I hope you have enjoyed this little review and I only share reviews of places that I really enjoyed staying at and would recommend to others. If you know of any other places that are nice to stay at - please share as I'm always on the look out for new hotels & b&b's to visit.
