Sutton Bank is a steep hill in the North York Moors National Park, not far from Thirsk, and most drivers in the area have drove up it rather slowly at one time. Because you can drive to the top of the bank- it provides a great base from which to do a number of walks, and because you start quite high - then the views can be seen with not much effort.

The Map of my favourite Sutton bank walking route:

The Start from Sutton Bank Visitors Centre:

The Sutton Bank Visitor Centre has ample parking, and great facilities including Information Desk, Cafe & Toilets

The start of the walk is quite flat, and because the car park is high up - you get excellent views with little climbing required!

We are on the cleveland way here!

Heading back along the path towards the Gliding School. As you can see from this picture and the earlier pictures - the walking route at the top of Sutton bank is quite flat and therefore very accessible to anyone. If you want a bit of fresh air and great views with not much effort then the top of Sutton bank is very much recommended!

So there you go, I hope this has inspired you to visit the area! If you know of any other excellent walking routes in the area - then let me know in the comments section! Thanks for reading, Stuart
