Stac Pollaidh is a relatively modest mountain at just over 551m, so it's no Munroe. This circular walk up to the summit of Stac Pollaidh is only 2.35 miles too - but the views you will see in every direction are simply are incredible and you will feel on top of Scotland at the summit of Stac Pollaidh

Here's the Stac Pollaidh walk route map, which starts from the car park which has plenty of spaces for 20 cars or so. This walk is quite short at only 2.5 miles, yet steep in the ascent to the top for the last 200m or so, but nothing too tricky, and doable with young kids. The path is generally clear along every step of the way and is generally easy to follow, apart from a couple of junctions around the summit area. I prefer to walk this route in an anti-clockwise direction so you tackle the steeper path in the ascent - with a more leisurely descent to enjoy the views to the north. This particular map route doesn't take you to the actual summit, which would require a bit of scrambling. Instead it leads you to the area between the two rocky outcrops where you'll still get stunning views. If you are feeling confident you might want to scramble to the summit, but it can be precarious. If you don't have a Phone Map App - I really recommend the one by Ordnance Survey. You can download route maps to your phone such as this one and the app will show you exactly where you are on the route even when you have no signal - so no more taking a wrong turn :-)
